SMTP AUTHENTICATION & Port 8181

You must authenticate to your mail server here before it will allow you to send. Additionally, some ISPs lock down the default SMTP port of 25 to control SPAM. You can use port 8181 to send through our server if this is the case.

Outlook 2007
Go to TOOLS -> ACCOUNT SETTINGS. Double-click on your email account. Click the MORE SETTINGS button. Under the OUTGOING SERVER tab, check the option: 'My server requires authentication'. Under the Advanced Tab change the SMTP port from 25 to 8181.

Outlook 2003
Go to TOOLS -> EMAIL ACCOUNTS. Click on VIEW OR CHANGE EXISTING. Select your email account and click on the PROPERTIES button. Click the MORE SETTINGS button. Under the OUTGOING SERVER tab, check the option: 'My server requires authentication'. Under the Advanced Tab change the SMTP port from 25 to 8181.

Outlook 2000
Go to TOOLS -> ACCOUNTS. Select your email account and click on the PROPERTIES button. Under the SERVERS tab, check the option: 'My server requires authentication'. Under the Advanced Tab change the SMTP port from 25 to 8181.

Mozilla Thunderbird
in ACCOUNT SETTINGS:
Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) in the left hand pane.
On this screen you can then set the port to 8181 if desired and then place a check in Use name and password. Enter your full email address for the username and the password provided from hwsitedesign (same as POP/IMAP).

Netscape
Go to EDIT -> PREFERENCES. MAIL & NEWSGROUPS -> MAIL SERVERS.
In the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) server field type: mail.yourdomain.com
In the Outgoing mail server user name field type: username%yourdomain.com

Eudora
Go to GETTING STARTED from the left menu.
Under the heading 'SMTP Server (Outgoing)' make sure that you have 'mail.yourdomain.com' and also check the box that reads: 'Allow authentication'. * Please note: You will not be able to use this option if your ISP is blocking port 25. This is the universal port for sending email through the internet. Many ISP's are blocking this port for security reasons which forces you to use their SMTP mail server.
